Tonight’s Austin City Limits (10 p.m., KERA 13) features Explosions In The Sky, an instrumental outfit from Texas’ capital city that stirs up quite a soundscape of atmospheric guitars and percussion. If you’ve seen the 2004 Texas high school football drama Friday Night Lights then you know the group’s music, which adds a lot to the film.

Alas, they won’t be appearing in Dallas in the near future, although they will be supporting another Texas band, Spoon, on some European dates early in 2008.

They’ll be appearing on ACL tonight with the Decemberists, another act definitely worth catching.
