Risk Theater Initiative

Founded in 2002, the Dallas-based Risk Theater Initiative (RTI) proceeds with a mission to educate and foster the development of Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex-based artists of all ages and backgrounds in their chosen aspect of theatrical production, while cultivating an ongoing, open discussion within the local and greater community about issues of contemporary relevance to the human mind and spirit. RTI serves its mission by producing high quality productions of rich, thought-provoking scripts, posing ever more challenging questions for artist and audience to collaboratively explore. RTI further serves its mission by providing the Dallas community with numerous workshop and volunteer opportunities, allowing both audience and artist to join together and expand their horizons. Since its inception, RTI has operated its highly regarded Mentor Program, under which young artists partner with a more established professional to learn the ropes of professional theatre. RTI is also the primary sponsor of the Risk Playwrights Initiative, a program dedicated to the development of young and emerging Dallas-based Playwrights through to full production of their work. RTI exists to drop its participants squarely outside the boundaries of the proverbial safety net through the vitality of theatrical production. We firmly believe that there is no mountain unscalable, no problem without a solution, no dream that cannot be achieved with motivation, dedication, creativity and a bucket full of blood, sweat and tears. Go ahead and start something. See where you land!
