Visual Arts Society of Texas


The Visual Arts Society of Texas (VAST) is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing community appreciation for the visual arts, continued improvement of individual artistic expression, and offering fellowship with people of similar interests. VAST's mission statement is: "Artists and community connecting to create and celebrate visual arts!"

The VAST:
* seeks to further community participation in and appreciation for the visual arts * provides opportunities for developing artists' skills and expression * offers fellowship with people of similar interests * offers educational opportunities for the public and artists alike

Admission
Those individuals desiring membership may join by paying the required dues: $15 (student), $30 (individual), and $40 (family). Most events are free to the public. There is a $3 guest fee for monthly meetings/demonstrations; workshop costs are based on instructor fees and number of participants.

Directions & Parking
Most VAST events are held at the Center for Visual Arts, 400 E. Hickory St., Denton, TX, 76201. Free public parking is available.

Other Information
All are welcome to attend the monthly meetings. Members attend free and guests are charged $3.
The meetings include an informal exhibit upon which the attendees vote to select the Artist of the Month along with an art demonstration/lecture given by artists of varying media.
The meetings are held at 7:00pm on the first Thursday of the month at the Center for the Visual Arts (CVA).
