River Bend Nature Center

River Bend Nature Center is a great place in Wichita Falls to come explore, play, discover, and learn.

Our most popular attractions are the Ruby N. Priddy Butterfly and Nature Conservatory, as well as our 15 acre nature preserve with paved pathway and shaded scenery, and the pavilion and terrace where you can enjoy a picnic lunch or fun in the sun! In the Butterfly and Nature Conservatory there is a pathway that guides you past examples of the different ecological regions of Texas. In each region you will find plants native to those areas, as well as informational exhibits and animals. You will find many different species of native butterflies, in every stage from egg to adulthood, as they feed off all of our flowers and find new places to bask in the sunlight. And if you're lucky, one might land on you!

Come experience the native wonders of the Great Plains.
