DFW Writers' Workshop
DFW Writers' Workshop is a non-profit organization. We are a writer's workshop that meets weekly on Wednesdays from 7 - 10 p.m.. Our mission statement reads: "We help and encourage North Texas writers of all genres and experience levels to produce professional quality writing suitable for publication. We do this by providing read and critique sessions, educational activities, networking opportunities and a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere."
We hold an annual writers conference with an attendance of 350+ people who come from almost all states and abroad. The 2013 conference will be our 7th conference. From our membership of approximately 170 members, we have 306 published books (and that's not counting self published books). Our conference is a favorite among NY agents, and many ask to be invited to hear pitches from attendees. We are offering a 6 weekend writing workshop for teens this summer, and we will be offering seminars for seniors and other community members on particular weekends throughout the year.
This year's conference is May 4-5th at the Hurst convention center.
