Discovery Science Place


Discovery Science Place is a hands-on family museum with a focus on science, technologies, engineering, math and cultures. A not-for-profit organization, the museum offers a soft-touch toddler area for younger children, provides birthday parties and celebration facilities as well as three exhibit halls full of hands-on activities.

Discovery Landing invites all to venture deep inside a cave to explore subterranean wonders while ending on top of the great ship Awakening to explore science adventures from around the world.

Hometown U.S.A. provides a myriad of familiar shops and businesses that are all child-size and invites the imagination to explore day-to-day experiences from a child's perspective.

Finally, our traveling exhibit hall currently features "WEATHER - An Exhibit of how the Weather Works. Visitors are encouraged to examine how tornados are formed, how weather patterns are formed and how the atmosphere affects daily life on earth.

$5 General admission
Children 2 and under are free.

Other Information
Discovery Science Place is located in downtown Tyler. In addition to the hands-on museum, Discovery Science Place offers informal educational programming geared toward early childhood, elementary, middle and home-school organizations as well as teacher workshops. These additional programs are available on campus and in an outreach format.
