Description: The year was 2007. Their names were Chase Whale and Rusty Gordon (co-founder), two guys who love to discuss, and argue, all things film. Chase was soon struck with the idea of a movie website centered around reviews done in video. Rusty responded simply with "gordon and the whale dot com."

With that, the site was launched that same year on October 12. Now with a staff of 21, we are riding the waves of the web giving you the latest movie news and reviews along with free advance screenings of films, hosting local movie events, providing you with comprehensive coverage of the year's premier film festivals (including TIFF, Sundance, SXSW, and many more), and interviewing today's top creative minds in the film industry.
