The Denton City Contemporary Ballet (DCCB) is a non-profit, mixed repertory dance company with the goals of community enrichment, youth outreach, and Professional development. Founded in 1989 by Artistic Director Lisa Racina-Torre, the dance company hosts the annual "Collage: Denton Dance Festival," and also produces a Denton holiday favorite, "A Gift for Emma." Denton City Contemporary ballet also sponsors the Denton Community Master Class series annually, which brings dance professionals from all genres to Denton and its surrounding areas. In 2009, DCCB established the Denton City Contemporary Ballet Summer Study Scholarship, which contributes to a qualified dancer's dance education and is distributed through the Dance Council of North Texas annually. The company has been invited to dance in Austria for the Young Tanzsommer Arts Festival in June of 2011!
