Tarrant Area Food Bank


Tarrant Area Food Bank, a private nonprofit, hosts three major events: Empty Bowls: An Artful Luncheon to End Hunger, featuring cuisine and handcrafted bowls; Breakfast with the Stars for children and featuring real and imaginary childhood heroes; and CANstruction featuring giant sculptures built by architects/engineers using canned and boxed food that is donated to the Food Bank. A member of the national Feeding America network, Tarrant Area Food Bank is the regional food bank that provides donated food to 300 hunger-relief charities in Fort Worth/Tarrant County and 12 neighboring counties.



Hours
Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Admission
It is free to tour Tarrant Area Food Bank. Empty Bowls and Breakfast with the Stars events charge admission; CANstruction is free.

Directions & Parking
Tarrant Area Food Bank's offices and warehouse are located in a business park on the northwest side of downtown Fort Worth, not far from the Cultural District. For a map and directions, visit www.tafb.org/map.html.

Other Information
Tours of Tarrant Area Food Bank are available by appointment. Volunteers are needed to sort and re-pack food during the day, including Saturday, and in the evenings Tuesday and Thursday. Call 817.332.9177 to volunteer or take a tour.
