Sherman Municipal Ballroom
Municipal Ballroom
The Municipal Ballroom is located at 405 N. Rusk. It is a popular location for meetings, wedding receptions, dances, and other events.
Timing of Reservations:
The Sherman Municipal Ballroom can be booked one (1) year in advance of the event date, except as stated below. The first consecutive Thursday, Friday and Saturday of each month will be reserved for priority booking of the Kidd-Key Auditorium, except during June, July and August. If the auditorium is not booked ninety (90) days prior to these dates, these dates will be released and may be booked by the general public. All other dates may be booked up to one (1) year in advance.
If the ballroom is rented in conjunction with the auditorium, it may be rented eighteen (18) months in advance. However, the renter must continue to pay for the use of the auditorium and cannot cancel that event and continue to rent the ballroom. The damage deposit will not be waived and will be applied to all users.
All reservations must be made at least seven (7) days in advance of the desired date. All reservation fees are non-refundable, unless the reservation is cancelled at least ten (10) days prior to the reservation date. The total reservation amount due must be paid by the first day of the month in which the event is held, or seven (7) days prior to the event, whichever is earlier.

Any violation of the rules and regulations pertaining to rental of the Municipal Ballroom will terminate the agreement, resulting in immediate termination of the event, and forfeiture of deposits and payments.
Alcohol:
State law prohibits the consumption of alcohol between 12:15 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. weekdays and between 1:15 a.m. and 12:00 noon on Sunday.
Security:
A minimum of three (3) security officers shall be required at events where alcoholic beverages are in use. A minimum of two(2) securitiy officers are required at events where more than 200 persons are in attendance and no alcoholic beverages are in use. A minimum of one (1) security officer is required for events where under 200 persons are in attendaance and no alcoholic beverages are in use. Security officers are not required for events held during the normal workday, when the building is open for City business.
Renters are responsible for hiring and paying security personnel. The City of Sherman requires that security personnel be Certified Texas Peace Officers, authorized to carry a weapon and enforce the laws within the City limits of Sherman. Security personnel must be under contract for the duration of the planned event and the names and phone numbers must be supplied to the City Clerk no later than ten (10) days prior to the scheduled event.

Oliver Dewey Mayor Outdoor Theater and Gazebo
The Oliver Dewey Mayor Outdoor Theater is located on the south lawn of the Municipal Building at 405 N. Rusk. It serves as the stage for the popular "Hot Summer Nights" concert series and as the focal point for the community Arts Festival.
There is a $25 damage deposit. All reservations must be made at least seven (7) days in advance. All reservation fees are non-refundable, unless the reservation is cancelled at least ten (10) days prior to the reservation date.

Hope Waller Community Room
The Hope Waller Community Room is located in the Sherman Public Library at 421 N. Travis Street. During hours that the library is open to the public, there is no charge for the use of this room by non-profit organizations and a $10 per hour charge for profit seeking organizations. For events to be held when the library is closed, an additional $15 is required for all users. Only light refreshments are permitted in this facility. A two week notice is required for use of the room. Contact the Library Secretary at (903) 892-7240 to make reservations.
Youth Center
The Youth Center is located at 407 W. Washington. It can be rented for family gatherings, baby showers, anniversary parties and reunions.
The facility may be rented after 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday and at any time on Saturday or Sunday. All events must be concluded and the area cleaned by 10:00 p.m. The fee of $15 per hour, including set up and clean up time, is due five (5) days prior to the rental date. A deposit of $100 is required at the time of the reservation. Security is required for some functions. No alcohol is allowed. Kitchen facilities are available. The Youth Center is ideal for functions with less than 100 people.

Park Facilities
Park Reservations can be made for any park by completing a facility usage form at the Youth Center at 407 West Washington. This includes picnic areas, baseball/softball fields and volleyball courts. Also, overnight camping reservations are available for Herman Baker Park. For more details please call (903) 892-7344.
The City of Sherman pools are available for party rental. Parties are scheduled Monday - Saturday 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. until July 31. After August 1, all parties will be scheduled for 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The rental fee is $50 per hour for the Fairview Pool and $40 per hour for the Hawn Pool. Call (903) 892-7344 for more information.

The Meeting Room inside the Glennie O. Ham Center can be reserved for community non-profit organizations during normal operating hours. Call (903) 892-7308 for availability and information.
Senior Citizen Center
The Sherman Senior Citizen Center at 1500 N. Broughton is available for use by the general public on a rental basis. It is understood that first priority will always be given to Senior Center sponsored activities for use of buildings and grounds even though an event may have been scheduled in advance by the general public.
All reservations are required to be made a minimum of four (4) weeks prior to rental. There is a $25 non-refundable deposit required. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the premises. No reservations are allowed after 10:00 p.m. No cooking is available.
The rate is $85 for up to four (4) hours and $10 for each additional hour. Call (903) 892-7316 for more details and availability.
