Zounds Sounds - Dallas
Zounds Sounds is considered Dallas' premier "school of rock." It is both the first and the best of its kind in North Texas. Catering to students of all ages, Zounds Sounds has garnered acclaim in the pages of the Dallas Observer (April 2005) & Best of Dallas 2006. Zounds has been featured on NBC 5 News, (June 2006) & D Magazine (Best of Dallas Winner 2008).
Formally founded by musician/teacher Marc Solomon and his wife and business partner, Mary Armstrong, in the summer of 2005, Zounds Sounds' ranks have swollen as the school has grown in popularity. One of the reasons for the schools extraordinary expansion is the burgeoning "Band Program." Once a student has been taking lessons, and his or her teacher feels they are ready, they are encouraged to join in the program. This is a chance for students to play in groups together, record and participate in monthly performances venues all over Dallas. Zounds also puts on a semi-annual "Rock Show" that lays the traditional recital to waste.
Zounds Sounds offers educational music workshops (Rhett Miller 2009) and a fantastic Summer Session to deepen the students understanding and passion for music.
Zounds Sounds offers group and private lessons as well as the Band Program. With 14 teachers, instruction is available in guitar, bass, drums, piano and voice. All of Zounds Sounds' instructors are professional working musicians who are inspired and excited by music's many gifts.
