The 'Do the Write Thing' Writing Workshop is part of the activities of the National 'Get Over Your Love Hangover Week and Conference' which was founded by author Shewanda Riley in 2001. It is held annually during the third week of June and is designed to provide practical tools for building and maintaining strong relationships. Both the conference and book have been featured in JET magazine, and the book, Love Hangover, is an Essence magazine best-seller. In 2007, Riley founded the 'Do the Write Thing' Writing Workshop to promote the gift of communicating through writing.

The price of admission for the workshop is $25.00.
