Friends of Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge


Friends of Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge is a 501 (c) (3) corporation whose mission is to instill reverance, respect and conservation of our wild creatures and habitats through supporting enviornmental education, recreational activities, and programs of Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. They currently offer free nature programs the second Saturday of each month, along with various additional activities and volunteer opportunities.

Hours
The Refuge:
Open daylight hours, year-round.

The Visitor Center:
Monday- Friday: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.
Saturday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Sunday: 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
(These hours exclude national holidays.)

Public Transportation
No public transportation is avaliable.

Directions & Parking
From the Dallas/ Fort Worth Metroplex: Take US 75 North. Exit Hwy 82. Go west to exit for FM 1417. Travel north to Refuge Road, then 6 miles to the Visitor Center.

Other Information
Guided birding trips on the Refuge are scheduled twice weekly in the Refuge Van. Call ahead to confirm.
