The Fort Worth Theater (FWT) was founded in 1955 and is the oldest community theater in Tarrant County. From its inception, the goal of Fort Worth Theatre has been to provide an opportunity to participate in live theatre. It is a non-profit community theatre providing a creative outlet for the theatrical amateur or non-professional.
During the last fifty years, the theatre has gone through many changes, but remains true to its mission: The Fort Worth Theatre strives to bring the community quality productions of new and classic works of the American theatre.
Annual productions are presented at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center.
