First Presbyterian Church - Richardson

The Holy Spirit is very much at work as we worship God; that we show up at the sanctuary door on Sunday morning is our response to the work of the Spirit. That we sing and pray and listen to God's Word proclaimed is our response to the work of the Spirit. That we are fed and nurtured in our life of faith in worship and in service is the work of the Spirit. These ideas are counter to what our culture encourages, especially our protected and treasured individuality, always in control, because we gather to worship as a community of faith, the Body of Christ.
This community of faith shares itself in prayer, in greetings and passing the peace of Christ, in song, in offering a shoulder for comfort or a place of solace. We believe that Christ is the head of this church. To seek and find God in this place: may it be ever so!
Sunday Mornings Sunday morning worship is at 10:30 a.m., with Sunday school for all ages at 9 a.m.
Sacraments In the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) we celebrate two sacraments: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Christian parents may present their children for baptism as a sign and seal of God's promise that they are included in God's covenant. Adults who have not been baptized may be baptized upon profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The Lord's Supper is celebrated the first Sunday of each month. The Lord's Supper is, again, a sign and seal of God's grace. We believe that Christ is spiritually present with us. All baptized Christians are invited to the table.
