Dallas Public Library - Oak Lawn Branch

The Oak Lawn Branch Library has had many locations over the years since its start in 1929 as a book depository in the Sam Houston School. The Oak Lawn Branch’s current location is a partnership between the City of Dallas and Kroger. The library houses books, magazines, DVDs, Blu-rays, music CDs, and audiobooks covering a range of topics. This location is unique in the substantial collection of LGBT materials provided and supported by the Oak Lawn Library, ilume GALLARIE, Crosland Group, and the Stonewall National Museum and Archives.

The Oak Lawn Branch Library offers a variety of children's programming, adult programming, and family events. It also has local artists featured in monthly art shows and hosts a knitting group, the Knittie Gritties. The Oak Lawn Branch Library is truly part of the community.
