The EMERGE program is open to Fort Worth-area high school students at no cost to the participants. This program provides ten weeks during the current fall semester of supplementary arts education to students centered around both mentorship and active art making.
Students will develop a strong understanding of the foundations of art. Using a solid drawing and design base, students can then use their skill sets to approach any type of media to explore and pursue other forms of art. Students will leave the program with a professional level portfolio of documented works to use for college applications or exhibition submissions.
The program will start Sunday, September 15, 2019, and it will conclude November 17, 2019. Each EMERGE session will meet weekly on Sundays from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Art Room Annex (unless otherwise specified for special field trips and learning opportunities). After the winter recess, EMERGE will begin again on January 12, 2020.
EMERGE Young Artists Program concludes with an exhibition, printed catalog, and reception to honor and recognize the students’ hard work and talent. The 2nd Annual EMERGE Exhibition will be held in the spring of 2020.
