Conduit Gallery is pleased to announce "No Title (Subject to Change)," a sculptural installation by Dallas-based artist, Ludwig Schwarz. Ludwig Schwarz’s exhibition No Title (Subject to Change) will be the artist’s fourth solo exhibition at Conduit Gallery. The exhibition will include a sculptural installation and sound to build another distinctive Schwarzian narrative.
Opening Reception Saturday, September 7, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition will be on view through October 12, 2019.
“Allow me to be funny for a minute” said Theodore “Teddy” O. Penning taking the microphone to accept his long awaited award, the merit of said award of no significance here, nor the actual award itself, the details of the judges, the number of people up for the award, the location of the ceremony, from country, to city, to room, etc. It was simply an award ceremony where one man, in this case, Mr. Penning, was to and did receive an award. Allow me to continue. Chuckles emerged, eagerly filling the silence after Mr. Penning’s now somewhat questionable opening remark. Mr. Penning paused briefly and stared blankly towards a group that one would have to consider, given the moment, as littered with unfamiliarity. “Why are you laughing?” he asked, clearly a bit thrown by the response. “Because that WAS funny!” a distant shrill voice announced. Mr. Penning, known as a serious man both in work and at leisure, cleared his throat and calmly moved on. Also a practical man, it seemed quite logical to do so, knowing that perhaps indeed his minute was up.”
“Tostada"
A deep-fried corn slat fried within itself and of itself with a delicate hint of corn and oil. Topped with a layer of freshly rendered black beans in a consistency reminiscent of love. Fresh lettuce and tomatoes form a crispy whisper and visual pillow. Sweet queso fresco atop, not too much, not too little, and so sweet… yet a bit salty. Finished with a drizzle of our handmade tomatillo sauce, a family secret. Don’t ask us anything.”
