Description:
Painting the figure presents the greatest challenge to the artist and once mastered opens up a world of possibilities.
This oil painting class will emphasize the representation of the model and the construction of the figure. Working from direct observation,* students will focus on simplifying larger masses with the use of angles and edges. The class will also employ the importance of shape design, along with the understanding of light and value. Students will learn about mixing colors to create proper skin tones, too. Each student will be taught the fundamental techniques to complete a painting from start to finish.
