Gary Levinson has invited an all-star group of musicians for this concert of works by Ysaÿe, Kodaly, and Elgar. Titled “Colors of Virtuosity” this exceptional program is described by Levinson who writes “The specifics of each of the three composer’s musical language is on display here. The Belgian Ysaÿe with his tip of the hat to Bach’s polyphony, the folk-inspired language of Kodaly’s grilling string writing, and the Victorian sensibility of Elgar.”
