Dates:
4-Week Class
Tuesdays | September 3 – 24, 2019
6 – 9 p.m.
Description:
Designed for all levels of experience in watercolor, this course will focus on teaching students the unique qualities and techniques of watercolor painting, as well as help the students refine their skills through a variety of compositions and approaches. We will paint from still-lives to landscapes to botanicals.
The course will include a discussion of materials, tools, and standard techniques, as well as a few experimental ones. We will also explore our “artist’s eye” and how to best “see” our subjects and translate them into two-dimensional form. The class is designed to be fun but informational and will aim to provide a relaxed environment in which students can learn to enjoy the process of watercolor and its sometimes-serendipitous results.
Students will leave the course able to independently plan, begin, and execute a watercolor painting on their own.
Number of students: 10
Students must supply their own materials.
An extensive materials list in posted on the class registration page.
