An Evening with Richard Louv: How Natural Learning Environments Improve the Ability to Learn and be Creative

Fort Worth Botanic Garden

The Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT®) presents “An Evening with Richard Louv: How Natural Learning Environments Improve the Ability to Learn and be Creative,” Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden Lecture Hall. Tickets are $35 for GROW members, and $45 for non-members — both include a signed copy of his book Vitamin N. Purchase tickets at brit.org/grow.

“Richard Louv’s views on exposure to nature and how it improves children’s cognitive abilities perfectly aligns with our mission, and provides further support for our GROW educational programs,” said Tracy Friday, director of the BRIT SEED School. “We are thrilled to offer the community this opportunity, providing them with information on ‘Nature-Deficit Disorder’ and our shared commitment to connecting children to the natural world, especially at a young age.”

Richard Louv is a journalist and author of nine books, including Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder; The Nature Principle; and Vitamin N. Translated and published in 24 countries, his books have helped launch an international movement to connect families and communities to nature. He speaks frequently around the world, including keynote addresses at the American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference, the first White House Summit on Environmental Education, the Congress for the New Urbanism, and more. He is chairman emeritus of the nonprofit Children & Nature Network.
