CARPENTERS TRIBUTE CONCERT: The World’s ONLY Authentic Production in Sight & Sound | A Re-creation of the 1976 UK Tour

Direct from Las Vegas – The Carpenters Tribute Concert will appear at the Waco Hippodrome Theatre on Friday, July 12 at 7:00pm. The show stars Sally Olson as Karen Carpenter and pianist Ned Mills as Richard Carpenter, backed up by some of America’s top musicians. It is the definitive show celebrating the music and legacy of the famed brother-sister duo, featuring hits including “We’ve Only Just Begun”, “Close To You”, “Superstar”, Karen’s drum feature and much more. The show opens with a tribute to Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass.

Randy Schmidt, author of Little Girl Blue: The Life of Karen Carpenter, has said that “Sally’s tribute to Karen Carpenter is heartfelt and honest” and David Halston of Tribute Masters says, “Sally is remarkable. Her interpretation of Karen Carpenter is not only spot-on, it is delightfully entertaining.” Sally is truly unsurpassed in her startling representation of Karen Carpenter and captures the essence of the late singer right down to her authentic hairstyles, vintage and handmade costumes, makeup, gestures and voice.

A re-creation of the 1976 UK tour, this amazing Carpenters Tribute Concert is unique due to its high degree of authenticity. Sally and her all-star band have captivated audiences across the country with faithful and spot-on recreations of the Carpenters’ music, playing to audiences in venues from performing arts centers to cabaret spaces such as the famed Triad Theater in NYC, to packed showrooms in Las Vegas. Carpenters Tribute Concert was selected to be the featured entertainment at the Carpenters 50th Anniversary Celebration in Thousand Oaks, California in April 2019. Sally will be the first ever Karen Carpenter impersonator to perform with Legends in Concert, which debuts November 2019 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Sally's stunning vocals combined with vintage costumes, historical commentary, video projections, lovely arrangements and a live band led by musical director Ned Mills, takes audiences on an incredible journey into the world of the Carpenters and offers a glimpse of the woman behind the music.

There will be a book signing by Randy Schmidt, author of Carpenters: An Illustrated DiscographyLittle Girl Blue: The Life of Karen Carpenter and Yesterday Once More: The Carpenters Reader.
