The Annual Castle Hills Spring Concert Series is back at the Castle Hills Village Shops! Residents and community members will have two different musical tribute experiences with the 2019 concerts: Texas Flood, with a tribute to Texas legend Stevie Ray Vaughan, performs Saturday, May 4 and Derek Spence, with a tribute the George Strait, performs Saturday, June 15.
With the variety of music offered at the concerts, there’s something for everyone in this year’s series at the Castle Hills Village Shops, located at 2560 King Arthur Blvd. at Lady of the Lake Blvd. in the Castle Hills community. The concerts are family-friendly, FREE and everyone is welcome!
Texas Flood’s Stevie Ray tribute and blues band will take the stage for the Saturday, May 4 concert with hits such as “Look at Little Sister,” “Change It” and “Crossfire.” The band will also entertain with hits from blues legends Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Albert King and B.B. King. With their raw, high-energy performances, Texas Flood has become one of the premier blues bands in North Texas and is sure to be the “Pride and Joy” of this year’s concerts!
On Saturday, June 15, Derek Spence will present Castle Hills with a George Strait tribute concert featuring the artist’s greatest hits such as “Amarillo by Morning,” “Run” and “The Chair.” This one-of-a-kind show will re-create a George Strait concert from the ‘80s and ‘90s, with Spence mimicking the look, sound and mannerisms of the “King of Country.”
The 2019 Castle Hills Spring Concert Series takes place at the Castle Hills Village Shops & Plaza with a main stage built for the event on Lady of the Lake that allows for ample lawn seating. The event is FREE and open to the public. In addition, to live music, guests can enjoy family-friendly activities at both concerts. Texas Flood’s May 4 concert, the weekend of Cinco de Mayo, will feature a Mexican flower artist and traditional Mexican dance performances as well as face painters, balloon artists, bounce houses, an inflatable obstacle course and more. A DJ will be spinning tunes at 6 p.m.; the headliners take the stage from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Get there early with a blanket, chairs, and the whole family for the best seats.
Concessions will be available for purchase throughout the event or come to the Village Shops early and enjoy pizza at PI.E 3.14; burgers at The Grind Burger Bar; Ramen at Ramen Izakaya Akira; margaritas at T.B.D Kitchen; or craft beer at TKO Libations. Or grab some snacks and sweets at The London Baker, Sophia’s Kitchen or The Salty Cow. The Castle Hills Spring Concert Series always provides two unforgettable nights of great music and memories! This year’s concerts are presented by Bright Realty, Grande Communications, Vector Security and the City of Lewisville.
