Slideshow Trombone Ensemble

St. John’s Episcopal Church - Dallas

Concerts at St John’s Episcopal Church, 848 Harter Rd, Dallas, presents “Slideshow” in concert. This ensemble of almost two dozen trombonists entertains, educates, and inspires, all with a notable sense of humor! Directed by Jon Bohls, these trombonists come from all walks of life and professions, both musical and otherwise. Some of their music is classical, some is jazz-inspired, some represents showtunes and movie music, but all of it has been painstakingly arranged for this ensemble. . . of trombones. They will perform music of Beethoven (“Egmont” Overture), Handel (“Zadok the Priest”), plus movie scores such as the “March from 1941” by John Williams and Elmer Bernstein’s “Theme from To Kill a Mockingbird.” Guest soloist John Kitzman, former principle trombone with the DSO, will join the ensemble to perform “Blue Bells of Scotland.” A reception follows this free concert.
