Rat Rios

Genre: Electronic/New Wave

“Timeless soprano vocal delivery with ethereal synths and production.” –D Magazine

If Kate Bush and Future Islands had a lovechild, you'd get Rat Rios. The 26-year-old singer/songwriter/producer Rat Rios is a solo electronic/new wave artist from Dallas, TX making nostalgic melodies that tug at your heartstrings. Each composition is a direct channel into her soul by layering vocal harmonies and instruments, not unlike an electronic orchestra. Her "music falls somewhere in between 1985 and the fourth dimension" with hopes of evoking catharsis within her listeners. Her dramatic stage presence is a nod to her BFA in theatre that works its way into her live set. She released her self-produced EP Britishfold in 2013 and has been spending the last years meticulously crafting a full-length album paired with a corresponding visual album. Rat has played numerous shows among Texas and has been on bills with Youth Lagoon, Puro Instinct, Fear of Men, Baio, and Still Corners. She is an active member of the performance world; she currently acts, directs, and designs for film and the stage.

You can stream the album in its entirety on Bandcamp and Soundcloud.
