In recognition of Black History Month, Southwest Jewish Congress is honored to present author and journalist, Alexis Clark, who will discuss her book and its important place in history. The complimentary program is scheduled for Sunday, February 24, 2019, 2:00-4:00 pm at the Lakewood Country Club, 6430 Gaston Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75214.
In her book, ENEMIES IN LOVE, Ms. Clark follows the World War II story of Elinor Powell, an African American Nurse and German POW Frederick Albert as they have a secret affair and struggle to stay together in the face of racial, geographical, and legal divisions every step of the way. ENEMIES IN LOVE is not just a love story, but a prescient and humanizing illumination of the lives of black soldiers and service men and women.
