Perot Tech Truck Visit

Nicholson Memorial Library System - North Garland Branch

Tech-savvy tweens and teens can celebrate Teen Tech Week with visits from the Perot Museum’s Tech Truck at two Garland Libraries this March.

The Tech Truck is a mobile extension of the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. The truck, which is outfitted with technological gadgets and equipment like 3-D printers and laser cutters, visits community centers and libraries to give participants a hands-on experience with STEAM technology.

The Tech Truck will offer attendees creative, scientific, and maker-based activities. The truck will visit the South Garland Branch Library on March 7, at 6:30 p.m. and the North Garland Branch Library on March 14, also at 6:30 p.m. Both events are free of charge, though registration is required and limited to 30 tweens and teens ages 10 to 17. Registration begins two weeks before each event at the location where the event will be held.

The South Garland Branch Library is located at 4845 Broadway Blvd., at Oates Road. The North Garland Branch Library is located at 3845 N. Garland Ave., at Apollo Road. Please be aware that photographs and video may be taken at Library programs for use in print and/or electronic media at the Library’s discretion.
