The Educational Art Gallery at Cedar Valley College is pleased to present the work of two Dallas artists, Ann McIntyre and Joshua F. Monroe.
Like many contemporary printmakers, these two artists pursue very idiosyncratic practices, primarily for their love of the print process and the singular character of the work that emerges.
McIntyre’s dense, color abstractions are derived from discarded materials and living things in her garden. Her education encompasses a degree and an apprenticeship in ceramics, studies in ikebana, and in-depth study in printmaking.
Monroe is an expert printmaker and papermaker who makes works that integrate unique cast paper structures, subtle, evocative color and relief woodcut prints. He uses these materials to explore subjects that relate conceptually to landscape.
A reception for the artists will be held on Tuesday, February 26, at 3 p.m. in the Cedar Valley College Educational Art Gallery, 3030 N. Dallas Ave., in Lancaster, Texas.
