Chesley Antoinette

Texas Woman's University - Department of Visual Arts

Dallas based artist Chesley Antoinette presents an Exhibition of fashion photography and wearable sculptural turbans from the historical period of the 18th Century.  Tignon pronounced [tēyôN] is a French word that can mean cloth or handkerchief and is used to reference the headwraps of Creole women. The display will explore a body of work through women of African descent.  The Tignon exhibition is intended to create dialogue around the ideas of liberty, private property and government policies that affect individual choices.

Opening Reception: February 23, 5-7 p.m. Exhibition Dates: February 23 - March 24.
