Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth Presents All Roads Lead to Italy

Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth

The Miró has been highly praised for their deeply musical interpretations, exciting performances, and thoughtful programming.  Each season, the Miró performs throughout the world on many significant chamber music series and on the most prestigious concert stages.

CMSFW is pleased to present this formidable ensemble performing three romantic works that are representative of the great Italian romantic arts of the 19th century.  One can imagine a journey beginning with the Austrian composer, Hugo Wolf, picking up Schumann and Mendelssohn in Germany and then all heading south to Italy where their music is rooted in melody. Quartet members are Daniel Ching and William Fedkenheuer, violin; John Largess, viola; Joshua Gindele, cello.

Program

Hugo Wolf                  Italian Serenade

Schumann                   Quartet No. 1 in A minor. Op. 41, No. 1

Mendelssohn               Quartet in A minor, Op. 13, "Ist es wahr'
