Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth Presents "Humor and Melancholy"

Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth

Alessandro Deljavan, piano
Gary Levinson, violin
Sergey Slovachevsky, cello

Program:
Beethoven Trio No. 1 in E-flat Major, Op. 3
Haydn Piano Trio No. 43 in C major, Op. 86
Dvořák Trio No. 4, “Dumky”

When Alessandro Deljavan performed for CMSFW in 2014, the Theater Jones critic wrote: “Deljavan’s performance was revelatory in every respect. Everyone in the hall knew that they were hearing something special—something wonderful—from the very first notes.” The guest cellist on this concert is Bion Tsang. Mr. Tsang’s chamber music career has also been a distinguished one, marked by collaborations with such artists as violinists Pamela Frank, Jaime Laredo, Cho-Liang Lin, Anne Akiko Meyers and Kyoko Takezawa and Chee Yun, violist Michael Tree, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, bassist Gary Karr and pianist Leon Fleisher. Mr. Tsang resides in Austin, Texas, where he is the first holder of the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long Chair in Cello at the UT Butler School of Music. Mr. Tsang and Mr. Deljavan join CMSFW Artistic Director and violinist Gary Levinson in a performance aptly titled “Humor and Melancholy “ – a reference to the wit and charm of the Beethoven and Haydn trios and sensibility of Dvořák.
