Sammons Jazz: Jazz Springs External

Sammons Center for the Arts

Sammons Jazz continues its 30 th anniversary of great music with two very different styles of jazz. Renowned jazz harpist Cindy Horstman fronts 2tone and the Dallas Jazz Harp Ensemble in this pleasing two-for-one opening set where strings of all kinds rule. Joining Cindy on stage are notable artists Michael Medina on bass, Andy Timmons on guitar, and harpists Laura Brandenburg and Kimberly DeRosa.

Pianist and composer Dave Zoller and his group, Evidence, share their deep appreciation of Thelonious Monk with selections from their recordings of the jazz giant’s works. Dave’s distinguished band features Aaron Irwinsky on saxes, Woody Berner on drums, and Jeffry Eckels on bass.

Sammons Jazz is held at the Sammons Center for the Arts, 3630 Harry Hines at Oak Lawn. Tickets are $50 per person and include beverages, a light meal, and valet parking.
