High Dive

Bath House Cultural Center

Echo Theatre presents High Dive by Leslie Ayvazian. Directed by Pam Myers-Morgan and featuring Kristin McCollum in a One-Woman Show Co-Starring the Audience!

We all encounter at least one pivotal moment in our lives where we find ourselves standing on the edge of new and perhaps terrifying possibilities, and we ask ourselves, "What the heck have I gotten myself into?" The mind takes us on a road trip of past triumphs, bad ideas, and sometimes flat-out embarrassing choices that can make even the most adventurous a little risk-averse. The fact remains, when confronting a crossroads, we can choose to embrace everything that has brought us to that moment and jump into the unknown...or not.

This decisive moment, this leap of faith, is at the crux of Echo Theatre's February production of Leslie Ayvazian's heart-warming comedy, High Dive, directed by Pam Myers-Morgan. An American woman, played by one of Dallas' fiercest actors, Kristin McCollum, finds herself poolside in Greece celebrating her 50th birthday with her family. While terrified of heights, she accepts her daughter's dare to jump off the high dive, and it is there she finds herself somewhat paralyzed in contemplation of all that has been and what might be.
