Remembering Ramses the Great: Tea and Reception

Thirty years after the Ramses the Great touring exhibit spent time at Dallas’ Fair Park, local collector and Egyptologist Rollin Phipps is returning his own collection to the Farmers Branch Manske Library with “Remember Ramses the Great: The 30th Anniversary, January 5 through February 28 with a special tea and reception on January 12 at 3 p.m.

Phipps hopes to remind the public of the spectacular exhibit from 1989 and educate today’s young people about the artistry of the ancient Egyptian people. The exhibit will feature replicas of dishes, wine cups, the Swimming Lady, the Plaque of Seti I, two panels from the original 1989 display as well as a number of authentic pieces from the era of Ramses the Great.

There will be a special reception and Tea on January 12 with Hibiscus tea and baklava, a traditional Egyptian dessert. Additional presentations will concentrate on Egyptian Mummies on February 5 and on the Wonders of Egypt on February 21.
