About the Book
HEADCHEESE is an experimental and epistolary novel that peers into the world of Acrotomophila. It’s a deep dive into the world of amputee fetishism, comprised of the personal accounts of a disparate group of people with diverse reasons for wanting to have their limbs (and/or other body parts) removed, interspersed with documents from doctors, scientists, historians, and others exploring the history and implications of amputation.
Jess Hagemann, MFA, is an award-winning author and accomplished biographer. She previously taught creative writing at Benedictine University before founding Cider Spoon Stories, Austin's premier ghostwriting and editing company, in 2015. Headcheese is her first novel.
