2019 Distinguished Artist Recital: Emile Naoumoff, Piano

St. Matthew's Cathedral Episcopal Church

St. Matthew’s Cathedral Arts announces the 2018-19 Distinguished Artist Recital on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 7:30 pm in the Great Hall of St. Matthew's Episcopal Cathedral, with a performance by virtuoso pianist Émile Naoumoff.

In preparing for this event, H. Michie Akin, Artistic Director, writes, “Cathedral Arts continues to expand its musical offerings, including superb vocal and instrumental recitals, chamber music, and fine jazz evenings. Renowned pianist and composer Émile Naoumoff, the last disciple of the legendary Nadia Boulanger, brings a lifetime of virtuoso performance experiences to Cathedral Arts, and we are honored and excited to present this very special event.”
Mr. Naoumoff’s recital includes works of J.S. Bach, Fauré, Ravel, Lili and Nadia Boulanger, and the performer himself. A reception for the artist will follow the recital in the Justus Sundermann Gallery.

On Saturday, February 9 at 10:00 am, Mr. Naoumoff will return to St. Matthew’s to conduct a Master Class with select young pianists and chamber music ensembles from Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts. Admission to both events is free to the public. Donations are welcomed.
