The Architecture and Design Exchange Grand Opening

Architecture and Design Exchange

The AD EX – shorthand for The Architecture and Design Exchange (and formerly Dallas Center for Architecture) – officially opens its doors to its new downtown building at Republic Center near Thanks-Giving Square on December 8, 2018.

The free, hands-on, family-centered grand opening will feature the return of the beloved exhibit “Building Toys and Toy Buildings: Architecture Through A Child’s Eyes,” this year’s exhibition of “A Window into the Architect’s Mind: 44th Annual AIA Dallas Ken Roberts (KRob) Memorial Delineation Competition,” a sidewalk mural-creating activity planned with collaborative partners Better Block Foundation and Downtown Dallas, Inc., and a DFW Toys for Tots toy drive.

Admission to the AD EX public grand opening is free, but attendees are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys appropriate for children up to 14 years old (bonus points awarded for toys related to building and design.) Planned outdoor activities will move indoors in the event of rain.
