This year’s theme is Our Poetry Garden Where Poems Bloom in All Seasons. This event will mark the culmination of the 2018 annual poetry contests that ended Aug. 15. The first, second and third place winners in each of the 100 contest categories will be announced at the banquet, and all first-place winners present will receive prizes and read their winning poems to be published in A Book of the Year 2019.
The winner of the manuscript contest that ended Aug. 1 for the coveted The Catherine Case Lubbe Manuscript Prize 2018 will also be announced at the banquet. PST will assume the production costs of developing the winning book manuscript of poetry into a market-ready, soft cover collection.
Special thanks and deep appreciation are accorded to all the critic judges and to the following PST chairpersons: Nancy Baass, annual contests; Patrick Lee Marshall, manuscript contest; and Beth Ayers, awards banquet. President Amanullah Khan expresses his sincere gratitude to the members of the Executive Board and all other PST members who provide assistance in the affairs of the Society. Incidentally, President Khan also expressed the desire to increase participation of membership in running the affairs of PST. He further requested the members to volunteer for appointments to temporary committees and enlarge the umbrella of leadership.
