The Nicholson Memorial Library System joins other libraries across the world in celebrating International Games Week from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, at the South Garland Branch Library.
In today’s multi-media world, libraries are much more than books. Libraries embrace sources of learning and entertainment in all formats, including computers and games. Gaming at the library helps patrons of all ages learn about strategy and teamwork while interacting with diverse groups of people and having fun.
This year, the library will offer game enthusiasts a variety of card games and board games to play, as well as some life-sized games such as Jenga, Sudoku, and Angry Birds.
This free event is open to game enthusiasts of all ages. Registration is not required. The South Garland Branch Library is located at 4845 Broadway Blvd. at Oates Road. Please be aware that photographs and video may be taken at Library programs for use in print and/or electronic media at the Library’s discretion. For more information, call 972-205-3933.
