Celebrating Texas Innovation at the State Fair of Texas

Hall of State at Fair Park

While you're at The State Fair of Texas stop by Hall of State and enjoy one of the most exciting exhibits of Texas Inventions and Innovations!

From America’s first drive-in restaurant, stadium nachos, iconic corn chips, the frozen margarita machine, handheld calculators, to even corny dogs, several of the world’s favorite creations were introduced right here in the Lone Star State. Texas continues to be a state of innovation delivering groundbreaking inventions, technological advancements, and scientific milestones. Commemorating the significant Texans and Texas innovations that have helped influence our current way of life and looking forward to the state’s next era of pioneers, the Dallas Historical Society and the State Fair of Texas are proud to present the 2018 State Fair exhibit “Celebrating Texas Innovation.”

Some highlights from the exhibit will include:

Carroll Shelby’s 1962 AC Cobra, Carroll Shelby’s 1966 GT Mustang, Lockheed Martin (Space Shuttle nose cone piece, SMSS Autonomous Vehicle, Space Café photo booth), Tom Landry personal items, Sonny Bert Sno-Cone/shave ice items, Mariano’s frozen margarita machine, Fletcher’s Corny dog items, and a special display on the history of computer gaming.

PLUS! Don’t miss taking your photo in the Lockheed Martin Anti-Gravity “Space Café”!
