Sons of the Flag, a Dallas-based nonprofit organization that supports military, veteran, and first-responder burn survivors and their families through various programs, innovative research, treatment and education, will host its fifth annual Stars and Stripes Luncheon and Film Festival event, presented by the Corrigan-Goddard Foundation. The luncheon, presented by Clay Cooley Auto Group, will be held on Thursday, November 8 at Brook Hollow Golf Club. Featured speaker is Green Beret Commander Mark Nutsch who was the main subject in the film “12 Strong,” in which he was portrayed by Chris Hemsworth. Commander Nutsch led his team in a declassified mission that helped overthrow the Taliban. We will screen the movie, “12 Strong” to sponsors on Nov. 7, and Commander Nutsch will participate in a Q&A following the screening. The Stars and Stripes Film Festival, presented by Stripe-A-Zone, will be held Nov. 8-10 at Highland Park Village Theater. These screenings are held close to Veterans Day in honor of the many who have served in the military. Co-chairs: Bill and Mary C. Corrigan
