Night of Decayed Musicians at Sons of Hermann Hall

Sons of Hermann Hall

This October, Lumedia Musicworks presents an original 60 minute semi-opera in three acts. Artistic director Julianna Emanski and Stage Director Hilary Grace Taylor have carefully selected and arranged a unique program featuring composers such as Handel, Purcell, Marais, Vivaldi, and Britten. With a baroque band of instrumentalists in full skeleton, and a quartet of witchy singers, this will be the perfect spooky experience for music lovers of all stripes. Join Lumedia Musicworks dressed in your own halloween costume for “Night of Decayed Musicians.”

Come early and grab a drink/treat with Lumedia’s own historian, Christopher Phillpott, as he provides some background information about the program.  Feel free to bring questions! Some may call it a “Pre-concert Talk,” but we call it “Happy Hour with Chris.”

Local Dallas visual artist, Adam Nomaan Nur has created an original painting to accompany our October show that will be auctioned off during performance week. The original painting will be displayed on all social media platforms in advance, and be present at all October performances. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Lumedia Musicworks

Read more about Adam Nomaan Nur: He's never fully dressed without a smile AND flowers in his suit pocket. Introducing our resident artist, Adam Nomaan Nur. Adam is a die-hard Texan with family ties to India and the Middle East. He has served as a US Youth Ambassador to India where he took part in numerous roundtable discussion with the Prime Minister and VP of India. He was chosen to partake in a religious and spiritual discourse at the behest of the Dalai Lama at his home in India. Adam was recently appointed an American Marshall fellow where he traveled to Europe as a guest of the European Union to meet with European leaders and Government officials.

Despite this impressive list, Adam holds his passion for painting and sculpture the most important detail about himself. He believes “painting is visual poetry" and tells us "the color of the sky, the smile on someone's face, the soaring voice of an opera singer, all inspire paintings within me." He is known for his painting techniques and use of vibrant colors. His work has even caught the eye of television star Jon Stewart, who purchased one of Adam's recent creations.

Silent Auction - Here is the fine print:

Lumedia will auction off the original painting on our website from October 20 opening at 12:00 am and closing on October 26 at 12:00 am. The original painting will be present at all performances. Announcements to bid on the painting will be encouraged in advance via social media platforms, newsletters, blog posts, and several times during each performance. Proceeds from this auction will go to Lumedia Musicworks for musician and performance associated costs for the remainder of the season.
