Complicit

Carneal Simmons Contemporary Art

Carneal Simmons Contemporary Art is pleased to announce the opening of Complicit, a group exhibition of artists’ responses to present-day politics that highlight the importance of vocalization in times of adversity. Works will explore themes that demand the public’s attention, such as racism, gender inequality, immigration, and environmental concerns. This exhibition continues the long-time companionship between art and politics by fostering contemplative dialogue of pertinent social issues and promoting art as a tool of protest.

Complicit will feature works by artists Jessica Bell, Johannes Boekhoudt, Lisa Cardenas, Lindsey Dunnagan, Favio Moreno, Jennifer Morgan, Yelizaveta Nersesova, Julia Ousley, Jen Rose, and David Willburn. The show opens on October 13 and runs through November 10, with an opening reception from 5 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, October 13.
