FIGMENT Dallas will bring over 40 interactive art projects to Reverchon Park (3505 Maple Avenue, Dallas TX 75219) on Saturday 10/20/2018 from 10 am to 10 pm.
This free interactive art experience is family-friendly, immersive, participatory and takes place for one day only. FIGMENT Dallas will showcase a diverse range of engaging and collaborative works that emphasize participation.
FIGMENT Dallas features local artists creating interactive and participatory visual artwork, including workshops, art cars, skill toy classes, immersive inflatable installations, interactive sound sculptures, music, costuming, telematic phone exchanges, augmented reality apps, visual art that you participate with, percussion sculptures, proximity & sound responsive lighting sculptures, clay workshops, hooping, video mapping, geodomes, dancing, chromatic installations, VR, and ping pong. FIGMENT Dallas is open to the public and free for all ages. Costumes encouraged.
Spend the day getting creative in the park, till after dark. Feel free to bring coolers, decorated bikes, strollers, and picnic baskets.
FIGMENT is a forum for the creation and display of participatory and interactive art by emerging artists across disciplines. FIGMENT’s vision for art looks past the white-walled galleries and into the realm of participation. Art is not just something that you stand still and quietly look at–it is something you participate in. You touch it, smell it, write on it, talk to it, dance with it, play with it, learn from it. Interactive art creates a dynamic collaboration between the artist, the audience and their environment.
FIGMENT’s goal is to advance social and personal transformation through creativity, in the form of free participatory arts events and exhibitions. FIGMENT is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization entirely funded by grants and individual donations to create interactive art experiences that are volunteer-led and free to attend. Come out & play.
