Amazing Grace - The Life of John Newton

Granville Arts Center

Puritan Productions is excited to announce our upcoming theatrical performance Amazing Grace, with dance and chorus, (Nov 3-4, 2018) at the Granville Arts Center in Garland, TX.

Witness the true story of John Newton, a captain of African slave trading ships who was transformed from a morally depraved life into a prominent supporter of the slave trade abolition as well as a beloved pastor.  Newton's "Thoughts Upon the African Slave Trade" aided in William Wilberforce's campaign to end the legality of the slave trade in England.  Newton also wrote many well-known hymns, but none as famous as “Amazing Grace.”
