Mockingbird Poetry Society in McKinney, (a Chapter of the Poetry Society of Texas), will have an Open Mic poetry event to celebrate National Poetry Day on Sat., Sept. 29 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., in lieu of October 4, Thurs. (actual National Poetry Day).
All poets and non-poets are invited. If you have poem/s to read or recite, or have "spoken word" to share, come and be heard. This event will be held at Craft Coffee House located at 218 E. Louisiana St., Texas, 75069 at S. Johnson St., SE Corner two blocks off McDonald St. (Rt. 5), phone (469) 219-8300.
Alice Parker, Mockingbird President, 906-284-9073, will emcee the event.
Admission is free. Those attending can buy something to eat or drink.
