Senior Social Hour


Nicholson Memorial Library System - Central Library

Seniors can enjoy popular music performed by Recast Brass at the Nicholson Memorial Library System’s Senior Social Hour eventRecast Brass will appear at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20 at the Central Library, 625 Austin St., in Downtown Garland.

Recast Brass is an all brass quintet featuring the sounds of two trumpets, a trombone, a French horn, and a tuba. The group is directed by Anne Allred of the Horn Choir, which performed at Senior Social Hour in 2017. Recast Brass will present Your Brassport to the World, popular tunes from and about major world cities.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, Senior Social Hour programs are free and open to anyone 55 years of age and older. Donations of gently-used books and media for the Friends of the Library book sale will be accepted at the program. No registration is required to attend the event, but seats do fill up quickly. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance. Due to ongoing construction, event locations are subject to change. Please visit our website, www.library.garlandtx.gov, for the latest information.
