South Dallas Cultural Center and DNAWORKS presents
HOLLOW ROOTS
By Christina Anderson
Directed by Daniel Banks
With additional support provided by Ignite/Arts Dallas
"Hollow Roots," by award-winning playwright Christina Anderson, questions the notion of a “post-racial” society. Diving into one woman’s quest to understand her identity, she asks if it is possible for a person to live their life unaffected by race or gender. This exquisite and transporting text tells this woman's journey, accompanied by a vivid videoscape of her mind's eye and live cello music recalling the sounds of her childhood.
A community storycircle will follow the performance, giving audience members a chance to gather together and bear witness to each other's journeys and revelations.
The performances are free but a RSVP is required.
