Liberation: Art from Venezuela

Bath House Cultural Center

On view September 1 - 29.

Reception: Saturday, September 1, 2018 (7-9 PM)

The Bath House Cultural Center, in collaboration with UNIARS, presents Liberation: Art from Venezuela, a mixed media exhibition featuring works by Dina Atencio, Luis Cuevas, Oscar Casanova Niño, Victoria Morales, José León, and Carlos Ramos. The exhibition represents the effort of these Venezuelan artists to share their expressions at a time in which freedom is scarce in their home country. The observer will immerse in the abstract parallel universe of Luis Cuevas, the chromatic power of Carlos Ramos, the feminist figures of Dina Atencio and Victoria Morales, the art created in reaction to the devaluation of Venezuelan currency by Jose León, as well as the quest for the Latin American identity of Oscar Casanova Niño.

UNIARS is an organization in North Texas, with connections in Latin America, dedicated to promoting the arts by providing alternatives to artists to exhibit and market their work.  The organization has a strong interest in helping artists with risk of social exclusion.
